NCD Technologies true CVD diamond coatings are the best options when it comes to improved performance and longevity cutting non-ferrous materials.  NCD has developed a proprietary pretreatment process that does not compromise tool strength and allows the processing of tooling down to .001” in diameter (currently not offered by competitors.)  Tooling is subjected to a highly automated and monitored Hot Filament Chemical Vapor Deposition technique to grow the thin films of diamond.  NCD offers two types of CVD diamond coating based on the size of the diamond grains.  The micro crystalline diamond coating offers performance where a rougher diamond finish is needed, while the nano crystalline diamond coating maintains a smooth diamond surface.  The coating thickness can be customized based on customer needs, but is typically in the range of 1 micron to 8 microns thick.
